Knitting.

"Hey, Kath! Isn't this blog about knitting?!?!"
No. Get over it.

Initially, it was me attempting to knit. And now I can sort of knit. I will continue posting knitting thingies, but why limit myself? If you want my knitting stories, check out my earlier posts.

I'm attempting to knit a hat.
Yes, a hat.

But I want to make a practice hat before I begin using my nice yarn. So, I'm using my old yarn. I haven't made a single purl stitch. I just don't want to unless I have to. I'm following the basic rules from my other hat pattern. I'll update you.

Crazy

I tend to search youtube for various adventures. Recently, I came across a chubby young girl who "sings" and dances along with her favorite hit songs. She has to be somewhere in the 11-13 range.

Initially, I laughed. How ridiculous. Why would anyone post such a hilarious video of themselves for 5 million people to laugh at.

I then realized it was me.
And you.
Anyone that had listened to a song, and just danced everything out.

Believe me, I'm not a dancer. I dance for show choir because I have to. But I'm awful (truly) and this is what I look like when I'm at home, listening to the cab like an idiot.

Back to the video: The girl had eliminated commenting on her video. I understood why. Most people would post a cruel comment that's sole purpose what to tear down her young frame. I could only imagine what people were saying. So, clicked on her profile and scrolled down to see her comments.
About 80% of the comments shown were simply rude. They mocked her figure, called her an idiot, said that she was a transvestite. Again, let me reiterate that this is only a young girl. I began scrolling up, and found that she had nearly 19 million views on all of her videos. Many of these were most likely office spam, "dude this video is hilarious."

And then I realized that she had 21 videos. She kept making them, despite the nearly constant ridicule.

Am I the only one who wishes she had the confidence to do this?

Hat!

Okay, the bottom of my hat is pretty easy. Bt I have to then transfermy work to circular needles. I just don't understand how it will all collect. You know?

Me.

I should be doing homework. Or studying for the English academic team. Or finishing my spanish note cards. But supposedly we're having a snow day tomorrow. And I'm lazy.

Me: I'm a junior, taking 2 AP classes. I am involved in plenty of productions. I love to sing and play the guitar, and I sort of have a band. There's only 2 of us, and we're more acoustic/jazzy. I also have wonderful friends who support me in every way.

I used to strive to be fake. I wanted a mask to wear. Now I've realized that my jealousy was worthless. Because I am me: I am Kath. I need no one else to model. I love my music, and I don't care if other people have heard of it.

My Favorite Bands (No Order. All "#1")
1. Fall Out Boy
They're currently on hiatus. And I support anything they do, if it's the best decision.
2. The Cab
Oh, Alex DeLeon. You inspire me. Your music makes me want to--
3. NeverShoutNever!
Yeah. I spell it the "old" way. Not sure how I feel about Warner Brothers, but I know I want to work at LoveWay records. Eh?
4. Mayday Parade
<3

So, that's me. A random teenager who learned how to knit through the internet.

Binding Off.

I've mastered the basics. Okay, not necessarily mastered, but I'm doing damn well. So let's bind off and start that hat.
Okay?

Binding off wasn't bad. Although, a few of my stitches before were especially tight or completely not right. So a few of the binding offs were kind of screwed up.

I always said that I would frame my first knitting, but I'm not sure. I'm kind of ashamed. And I really don't want to finish binding off the entire thing.

Hat time!

Purling.

I've been avoiding this topic. Acting like knitting is the easiest thing in the world... It isn't. Breathing is pretty easy. Swallowing (another mundane act) requires little energy.

I've noticed that I can now perform the knit stitch in the dark (perform?).

I think this means purling time.

So, I'm pulling out what I've knitted so far, and heading to The Yarn Co.

I have to be asleep in 6 minutes, so let's hope I'm a quick learner (yes, i have a personal bed time. teenagers need 8 hours of sleep, and I fully intend to be refreshed each morning).

Ok. Learned purling in around 4 minutes. The directions were exact. While the pictures assisted, the words were the true guidance. Before I knew exactly how to do the knit stitch, I was almost doing the purl stitch, but not completely. It's pretty much the reverse of the knit stitch.

I still need to practice more, then bind off. Then I will tackle my hat. I cannot wait!
